Beta Build
The iterations I have done since the art build was adding new scenes. One of the scenes was the lover scene, for the most part, the scene is close to the first scene the player sees, but besides the lover, the main character moves slower through the scene. This was something I was given feedback on while discussing the scene with others. It helps to allow the player to think and get the feeling that the lover scene is one they might want to end on that scene. It is just another way to make the player reflect on certain aspects. The main other thing that was added through iterations was Greg. Greg was something I decided to create while talking with someone about one of my assets, the asset being the tree that was growing out of one of the buildings. It was discussed that it could be interpreted as a dinosaur so I took that idea and simply added a smile and an eye. I felt that adding this to some preexisting scenes by either hiding it or him being in the open would add some comedic relief or push people to make him an immortal friend. It is worth noting that this dinosaurs name is mainly a placeholder for myself to identify him differently from the original asset, the actual name is whatever the player comes up with while they are playing. This way the player can come up with their own names and ideas as to who this dinosaur, (or whatever they see them as), and why they are around.
This is Greg:
The minimal UI being only a few sentences at the start or the end of the game helps to allow for the player to get the full experience of trying to create their own story. This is where my goals for the future of the game come in too, as most of the goals I have created for the game involve making the game more reflective and immersive to the point that it is easy for a player to boot up the game and make a story that satisfies their desires.
